THREAT SIGNAL Begins Recording New Album
November 10, 2008Vocalist Jon Howard of the Canadian metallers THREAT SIGNAL has issued the following update:
"So we've started tracking the new THREAT SIGNAL album! We've chosen to self-produce and record most of the album close to home. This keeps a more comfertable, less stressfull work environment, and we can work whenever and however long we want. Which I believe will make for a KILLER second album.
"We are recording 13 tracks. One of those songs is the very first THREAT SIGNAL song ever writen. We thought it would be a waste to let the song go unheard, so we are throwing it down! The rest of the songs are brand new that we've been working on this year. Some of the song titles include 'Through My Eyes', 'Severed', 'United We Stand', and 'The Beginning Of The End'.
"Norm (Killeen) has recently finished tracking drums, and we are editing them now. They sound amazing! Norm did a great job of pounding his skins, haha. We will begin tracking guitars in about two weeks."
"A New Beginning", the new video from THREAT SIGNAL, can be viewed below. The clip was shot on April 10 with award-winning film director RT of 235 Films. The track comes off the group's debut album, "Under Reprisal", which was released in North America on August 22, 2006 via Nuclear Blast Records.
THREAT SIGNAL uploaded a demo version of a new song, entitled "Beyond Recognition", on the group's MySpace page.
The band's vocalist Jon Howard has joined forces with FEAR FACTORY members Christian Olde Wolbers (guitar) and Raymond Herrera (drums) in a new group called ARKAEA.
ARKAEA has spent the past few months recording its debut album. The CD, which promises to be as pummeling as anything the team of Olde Wolbers and Herrera has ever written, is due in March 2009 on Koch Records. Touring activities are in the works in support of the record.
Howard has been a part of the FEAR FACTORY family ever since Olde Wolbers served as producer for "Under Reprisal". Given that connection, the chemistry was there the instant the band started playing together.
